Where do we go from here?
I'm sitting on the floor of my empty dining room as I write this thinking, where do we go from here?
The past couple of months, we have had to trust the Lord with all of our hearts. Leaning not to our own understanding, praying for Him to direct our paths and to show us the path of His purpose. How fitting is it that, Proverbs 3:5-6 is the yearly verse for Jake and Allie's school (Wake Christian). We have the verse written on our chalkboard by our side door and we read it each morning before we leave for school and then we see it on the banners when we drive into their school. It has been a constant reminder to TRUST.
Trusting is hard, especially when you do not know where to go from here. We stepped out in faith from monthly income, we sold our house (in 8 days) and as of tomorrow, we have no place to live. Two uhaul trucks are sitting in our driveway with no where to go come tomorrow at 11:00am when we sign the papers to close. We have prayed and searched for the next house, but nothing! Not sure why God has not opened that door but, we must trust. This is indeed the scariest thing that we ever done. We took a huge leap of faith and have to keep reminding ourselves that although in our eyes, our future is unknown, God knows and is working it out for our good.
I am incredibly thankful for our friends. They have been such an encouragement to us. Just today, the kind words of a friend through a facebook message was just what I needed to hear. And, the Dunkin Dounuts that were dropped off at our house tonight made me cry (I know, I'm weird). But all of this has showed me how blessed we are to be loved.
So, where do we go from here? We shall see.

Today Fabulous Friday Favorites is all about bamboo.

Fabulous Friday Favorites - InStyle Magazine Inspired
When I received the November issue of InStyle magazine in the mail this week, I drooled. The forest green color and the beautiful Taylor Swift with those bangs were right on target.
There is a color crash course in this issue on forest green. They call it a "right" color as winter approaches. It is sophisticated and soothing to the eye.
Whether you are wearing forest green or using it in your home, it pairs well with of course black, but also navy, pale green, gold, and birch. InStyle designers even pair it with bright pink.
Pictured above are a pair of forest green skinnies with brown riding boots.
Forest green is a great home accent color shown above with the pillows and chevron curtains.
Recycled wine bottles are a hot item, used a lot for candles.
If you "can't see the forest for the trees", step back and take a better look at the many blessings around you. You could get a whole new outlook on life and love.

Fabulous Friday Favorites - Neutral Paint Edition
Paint, paint, paint.........it can be one of the hardest decisions in decorating your space, BUT can make the biggest and most amazing difference.
Paint sets the tone, mood and atmosphere in your space. There are cool colors that have a calming effect (blue/green/violet), warm colors can make a space feel smaller (red/orange), colors that make you want to eat (red), and colors that make babies want to cry (yellow). So, it's very important that you choose the right color for the right space.
Today in my Fabulous Friday Favs, I list some of my favorite "go to" neutrals.
These neutral tints can provide a feeling of openness. They bring style, sophistication, and glamour.
Plus, you can accent with any color and it will work.
1. Perfect Greige - Sherwin-Williams - SW 6073. Perfect naturally neutral gray that is a perfect complement to white.
2. Hazy Skies - Benjamin Moore - OC 48. A beautiful but subtle gray.
3. Manchester Tan - Benjamin Moore - HC 81. This is a neutral on the khaki side that is classic and elegant.
4. Grant Beige - Benjamin Moore - HC 83. This is a timeless color that can be used in a traditional space as well as a contemporary space.
5. Agreeable Gray - Sherwin-Williams - SW 7029. For interiors or exteriors. It's in the cool neutral family and gives a soft look that looks great with wood floors.
6. Revere Pewter - Benjamin Moore - HC 172. A light gray with warm undertones that creates a unifying look and is calming. It's great for open floor plans.
Next week we will talk about some bright colors to light up your life.
Have a fabulous Friday!!

Trust in the Lord
This week is the start of a new school year. Not only for the kiddos, but for me as well. I start my 3rd semester in Interior Design School on Friday.
The classes that I will be taking are:
Construction Methods and Materials
Building Codes
Commercial/Contract Design
Design Products
Sociology
16 hours but thankfully two of those classes are online and I will still be working with Jenn Britt Design as well. Busy, busy, busy.
The kiddos started school Tuesday.
The yearly verse for Wake Christian Academy is Proverbs 3:5-6.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight".
This is not only the school's yearly verse, but has become the The Britt family yearly verse as well. In the season we are in right now, we are truly trusting in the Lord each day. This verse also reminds us of our dear friend, Linda Aikens. She use to quote this verse to our youth group all the time. I can still hear her saying it and it brings a smile to my face.
We are so very thankful for Wake Christian and that our kids get to go to a school that is teaching them to Trust in the Lord! Jake's teacher cried during orientation because she was thankful for the great group of kids that she gets to teach. Jake already loves her and we are thrilled with both Allie and Jake's teachers.
Phil and I will be volunteering every chance we get at the school. Phil already serves on the Franklin Pierce Educational Foundation board, which provides financial assistance to families in need and he is the announcer for the MS boys soccer games for the fall. We know the importance of volunteers and we want to serve!!
....and He will make your paths straight.

Just a little weekend update
I am at my parents house this weekend in Wilmington.
They have a small powder room that needed a little update. They have mirrors with no frame, which you see in a lot of bathrooms. To update them is simple....add a little molding and ta-da!!
Please excuse the poor quality photos. I was using my iPhone.

Here is a close up of the molding my parents chose.

I Know A Guy
I know a guy. This guy is the most passionate guy I have ever met. Passionate about what, you might ask. Sports....yup. His family....yup. Me.....oh yeah. Serving others....yes sir. God.....you betcha!
We are talking about Phil Britt (my hubby).
For the past 16 years, Phil has served on staff at churches in Wilmington and Cary, NC as children's pastor, lead pastor, youth pastor, family ministries director, etc. This month he (we) stepped out on faith as he pursues his passion of leading and guiding people so they will know their life purpose.
He is a fantastic communicator and is full of biblical wisdom. I call him my human concordance. I can ask him where anything is found in the Bible and he knows.....it's crazy. He can explain things so clear that anyone of any age can understand.
This is a new chapter in the Britt family book and I'm excited to see how God continues to use him.
Check out his website www.philbritt.org and like his facebook page.
Spread the word.
He can speak to churches, schools, camps, businesses, sports teams, one on one, groups, and can marry you (haha...officiate you getting married to someone else).
Thank you friends for the love and support and most of all for the prayers during this transition.
You guys are the bestest!!

The Redneck Side Renovation
I am a country girl. I love country things......campers being one of them.
This week I re-designed a pop up camper. This camper belongs to another country girl who loves the beach and camps their as often as she can. So, it was fitting that we turned this camper into her little beach oasis.
Before:
Thank you to Abbie Franklin of CARTERelite Studio for the fabulous pictures. http://www.carterelite.com/
And thank you to Lenee Rice for letting us take over your camper for a day. We promise to "shut the door" when we go camping. Love you friend.
Now I am wishing I was by the ocean......ahhh. Until then...................

This is for the birds!
Hahaha....this pretty much sums up how I have felt lately. Birds everywhere. Birds have made nest in both our vents for ventilation on each side of the house, one in our broken front porch light, and one in the tree by the front porch. You walk out our front door and you better watch out because a bird will fly and hit you in the face. I joked too because a lady gave me the bird the other day while driving. So, I just can't help but to think, what's up with all the birds??
Well, I can tell you. God. He is showing me something. Just the other week I read this scripture:
Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds in the air, they do not sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
Phil and I are taking a step of faith. We do not know what our future holds after the end of May and it's not a little scary....it's a lot scary. And being the "wonder woman" that I am (always wondering and worrying), I'm a bit concerned. But, the Lord has reminded me that he will take care of us. We will follow and serve him and he will provide. I know that all these birds around me are just signs that he takes care of them, and he will take better care of us.
I have though, enjoyed seeing the beauty of these birds. The way they make their nest is incredible.
The Britt's are pressing forward...even though we have no clue where God is taking us. #BELIEVE #FORWARD
I think this just may call for some new outdoor pillows....maybe in a bird pattern? :) ha
