Not just a pallet.

Pallets. They are flat, transport structures that support goods in a stable fashion. But, they are so much more than that.

Below you will see some pics of a table in my sister, Suzanne's, home in Wilmington. It is made from pallet wood. Her husband Lawrence built it. (He can build ANYTHING).

This old pallet was made into a new, beautiful creation. Now instead of being surrounded by old boxes in a warehouse, this pallet is going to be surrounded by good times with family and friends. Sharing food, drinks, and many laughs. It's not just a pallet anymore. It was made for much more.

We to are a new creation, in Christ. He can take our old, and make it new. He has a purpose for us all.  We were made for more.

Wondering Again?

Am I wondering? or worrying?
I'd say a little bit of both, well okay, a lot of both. Besides, I am wonder woman, that's what I do.

I had an overwhelming desire to wonder (worry) last night. At times, we do not know what the future holds. It can be scary, but exciting all at the same time, but last night it was down right scary.

Thankfully, this morning, I was reminded what the Bible says about worry. It simply says not to!
Instead, in Matthew 6, it calls us to look to God and his faithful provision. I heard the birds outside playing on our roof, they like to do that during the morning time, and I thought of how the Lord takes care of them. Verse 20 says "look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable then they?" Yes I am!!

"Seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you".

And more projects.....

Here are some other projects that I've been working on the past couple of weeks:

I was given a construction document of this bookshelf for a kids space by another student and I had to build it in a 1" scale. Thanks to my brother-in-law for getting me started in the right direction.

I have started rendering in my Graphic Presentation class. The first was a copper elbow pipe and now I'm working on a pepper. Who new colored pencils could cost so much....$129.

A project I did for myself was adding a geometric design to the basic mirrors in my foyer. A cheap and easy way to add some character to an ordinary mirror.

I've even been able to work on a few graphic promos.

Life is good. Life is fun. Life is busy. I'm just trying to make it simply the best!
Exited about what God has in store for our family!!

Potty Time

The latest project that I turned in was a bathroom. This bathroom had to be shared with two bedrooms and used for visitors. The goal was to create privacy for the homeowner while still allowing the visitor a space to pee.....hehehe. We had to provide one floor plan, elevations and/or sections rendered, and materials & finishes on our finish board as well as construction documents with dimensions and notes.

As you can see from the floor plan below, I created a bathroom that was functional for both the homeowner and visitor/guest by dividing the guest area and the homeowner area to increase privacy. The tub/shower and dressing area has little exposure to the guest.

I chose Rustic from a list of styles that we were given, which creates a natural, organic, and warm feeling.

In this floor plan, there is a pocket door to give extra privacy in the water closet, a tub/shower combo, washstands and etegere from Restoration Hardware, paint colors were Needlepoint Navy and Pennywise, slate natural tile on the floor in herringbone pattern , and bronze fixtures. I also added a towel rack made from pallet wood, rustic stars and a moose head with antlers to go along with the Rustic style.

I learned a great deal with this project about wall thicknesses for bathrooms, plumbing walls, etc.

Now on to the master suite and a coffee shop.
