Just a little weekend update

I am at my parents house this weekend in Wilmington.

They have a small powder room that needed a little update. They have mirrors with no frame, which you see in a lot of bathrooms. To update them is simple....add a little molding and ta-da!!

Please excuse the poor quality photos. I was using my iPhone.

Here you see (well kind of) the mirror above the sink before the molding and the mirror after.

Here is a close up of the molding my parents chose.

This is my mama and my brother-n-law. He can do anything and we are so appreciative when he does. We love you Boog!!

Fabulous Friday Favs

So today I am sharing a few of the fabulous things that I have been loving this week.

Between all the many magazines I receive each month (thanks to my Delta Sky Miles), they keep me oohing and aahing over the latest trends.

I keep up with what to wear and what not to wear, easy ways to add color to a room, fall looks for everyone, dream cruises, the 50 best things to eat, hot deals, and lots more. It can be a bit overwhelming.....haha.

On the list this week for my fabulous favs:

1. Geometric Wall Art  |  2. Wheat Candle Holder Sconce  |  3. Elegant Bar Flask   |   4. Gold Bar Cart
5. Gold Pointy-Toe Flats  |  6. Mixed Metal Bracelet  |  7. Gold Numbered Place Cards
8. Fretwork Rug  |  9. Versace Black Satchel  |  10. Sasha Rhett Watches

If any of these items strike your fantasy, just send me a message and I will tell you where you can find them.

Have a fun and fabulous weekend!!

I Know A Guy

I know a guy. This guy is the most passionate guy I have ever met. Passionate about what, you might ask. Sports....yup. His family....yup. Me.....oh yeah. Serving others....yes sir. God.....you betcha!

We are talking about Phil Britt (my hubby).

For the past 16 years, Phil has served on staff at churches in Wilmington and Cary, NC as children's pastor, lead pastor, youth pastor, family ministries director, etc. This month he (we) stepped out on faith as he pursues his passion of leading and guiding people so they will know their life purpose.

He is a fantastic communicator and is full of biblical wisdom. I call him my human concordance. I can ask him where anything is found in the Bible and he knows.....it's crazy. He can explain things so clear that anyone of any age can understand.

This is a new chapter in the Britt family book and I'm excited to see how God continues to use him.

Check out his website www.philbritt.org and like his facebook page.
Spread the word.
He can speak to churches, schools, camps, businesses, sports teams, one on one, groups, and can marry you (haha...officiate you getting married to someone else).

Thank you friends for the love and support and most of all for the prayers during this transition.
You guys are the bestest!!

The Redneck Side Renovation

I am a country girl. I love country things......campers being one of them.

This week I re-designed a pop up camper. This camper belongs to another country girl who loves the beach and camps their as often as she can. So, it was fitting that we turned this camper into her little beach oasis.

Thank you to Abbie Franklin of CARTERelite Studio for the fabulous pictures. http://www.carterelite.com/

And thank you to Lenee Rice for letting us take over your camper for a day. We promise to "shut the door" when we go camping. Love you friend.

Now I am wishing I was by the ocean......ahhh. Until then...................

This is for the birds!

Hahaha....this pretty much sums up how I have felt lately. Birds everywhere. Birds have made nest in both our vents for ventilation on each side of the house, one in our broken front porch light, and one in the tree by the front porch. You walk out our front door and you better watch out because a bird will fly and hit you in the face. I joked too because a lady gave me the bird the other day while driving. So, I just can't help but to think, what's up with all the birds??

Well, I can tell you. God. He is showing me something. Just the other week I read this scripture:
Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds in the air, they do not sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?

Phil and I are taking a step of faith. We do not know what our future holds after the end of May and it's not a little scary....it's a lot scary. And being the "wonder woman" that I am (always wondering and worrying), I'm a bit concerned. But, the Lord has reminded me that he will take care of us. We will follow and serve him and he will provide. I know that all these birds around me are just signs that he takes care of them, and he will take better care of us.

I have though, enjoyed seeing the beauty of these birds. The way they make their nest is incredible.

The Britt's are pressing forward...even though we have no clue where God is taking us. #BELIEVE #FORWARD

I think this just may call for some new outdoor pillows....maybe in a bird pattern? :) ha

I Like Mine Well Done!

I like my steak well done. And that's exactly what I am today....well done! Actually, a well done steak would be nice right about now...haha.

I walked out of my last class for this semester yesterday and I am so relieved. This semester was a tough one ....with 5 classes.
-Principles of Interiors (commercial spaces)
-Residential Design
-Graphic Presentation
-History of Furnishings
-Digital Architecture (Photshop, Google Sketch-up, and Illustrator)

Yes, I learned a ton. Yes, about design, but also about my life. I learned that I have one awesome husband. He has cooked, cleaned, picked up the kids, listen to me yap about my instructors, and never complained. In fact, he encouraged me the whole time. I sure couldn't have done it without him. I have some pretty awesome kids as well who have cheered me on too. I am one blessed girl. My friends have been pretty awesome as well.

Today, I am busy doing dishes, laundry, cleaning toilets, picking up kids and I'm loving it. I want to be a "well done" wife and mom everyday.

And of course, I want to hear "well done" from Father God one day. I want to serve God by serving others while I am here on earth. I love helping people and I pray for opportunities to do so everyday.

Phil and I are looking forward to the next couple of weeks. Although the future is unknown to us, we are standing at the crossroad and asking God where the good path is. We are ready to walk in it. (and we hope we can eat some good steak along the way). Jeremiah 6:16
