Mix It Up

I had the awesome privilege yesterday of attending the Kitchen Renovation Workshop at High Point Market hosted by Rebecca Reynolds  and Lori Gilder.

Rebecca is president of New Canaan Kitchens, a premier design and renovation firm in CT. She is a nationally recognized designer in the Kitchen & Bath Industry and has an award-winning, diverse portfolio of projects completed over the past 20 years in CT., New England. the South, and as far away as California. Her projects have been featured in several kitchen design books and on the covers of national and local magazines as well as trade publications.

Lori Gilder is a master planner known for her clean architectural lines and comfortable, classically-contemporary environments that exude a rustic warmth. She is influenced by Southern California’s design style, everything from Spanish to mid-century modern to traditional ranch style homes. Lori has been a featured guest of multiple HGTV shows and as a contributor to television, print and digital platforms.

It was held at the beautiful O'Henry Hotel in Greensboro, NC.

Rebecca and Lori brought years of experience and were gracious enough to share their secrets to success. We learned where to begin with kitchen renovation, conceptual design and planning, design development, material sourcing, construction phase, and project completion. I was very blessed to attend and learn from these gorgeous ladies. Thanks also to Lisa Mende Design for the invitation.

One of the many things that I took away from the workshop is that it is okay to mix it up.....
Finishes (bronze, stainless, nickle. It's okay to use more than one), cabinetry  and counter tops.
Below you will find some images of kitchens that have done just that.

Gorgeous kitchen designed by Rebecca Reynolds of New Canaan Kitchens and photographed by Michael Partenio!
